Reminder of Upcoming Events

0

Since I first posted this list of events prior to the holiday, I thought I’d send out a reminder, just so you don’t miss out on anything important.  There are also a few additions, so read carefully!

1/3/12  7-9pm:  Healthy Living Food Group  Ok, you’ve already missed this one, as it is always the first Tuesday of each month.  We had lots of lovely dishes made with greens, legumes and such….and talked about using food to gently detox after the holidays.  Suzette Gore also shared detox ideas from a Chinese Medicine perspective.  Next month,  Brad Berry from Snipes Farm and Educational Center will talk with us about sustainable farming practices.  Please come, bring a healthy dish if you like, and ask questions, learn from others, share your own experience.

1/6/12  5:30-7pm  Yin Yoga resumes!  Sally Miller will again be teaching our Friday evening classes.  Save money by signing up for a 4 week series, but there are single “drop in” slots available as well.  Call first to let us know you’re coming, but definitely plan on joining us!

1/8/12  6:30-8pm :  Singing Bowls with Harmonic Immersion, presented by Nancy Beal  This class is currently full, but watch for announcements of future similar events.  Likely to happen again in February!

1/9/12  6:30-8pm  Monday night Yoga.  This ongoing class is currently being taught by Jeanie Whitecrest while Jeremi Dilworth is out on maternity leave.  Jeanie’s style is an interesting blend of vinyasa and yin….the “regulars” are really enjoying the change!  Join us!

1/10/12  7pm  Mini Med School Starts!  Tonight, “If in Doubt, Start with the Gut”.  This is a series of 8 sessions covering varying topics.  We can still make room for more attendees!  Please go here for further information.

1/11/12  7pm:  The Doctor and The Chef  First of a series of talks at The Yardley Inn, this session we’ll be discussing gluten-free lifestyles.  I’ve already talked with Chef Eben about the menu, and it sounds great!  I’ll be sharing some insights from the book “Wheat Belly” by William Davis, MD, which I’ve recently gotten excited about.  Tickets are $49.95 which includes your meal.  Tax and gratuity are additional.  Tickets can be purchased through the Yardley Inn, 215-493-3800.

1/13/12  Dr Warner on the Dr Oz Show!  My tv debut airs today!  The show was fun (if a bit intimidating) to tape, so I hope you’ll take the time to watch.

1/16/12  6:30-7:30pm  Introduction to the Balance for Good lifestyle change program.  In this free session, MaryLu Gallagher, our Certified Lifestyle Educator, will give an overview of the BFG program and answer your questions.  BFG is our 12 week lifestyle change program, designed for those with cholesterol issues, hypertension, weight issues, excess stress/emotional eating, and body composition abnormalities.  Now is the perfect time to change your old habits and get some personal guidance to help it stick this time!!

1/21/12  Tai Chi Chi series resumes!  Good news—there will be an advanced class starting at 9 as well as a beginner class starting at 10:30!  These are 8 week series taught by Siobhan Hutchinson.  Please contact her for registration and further information:  609.752.1048.  Her website is here.

Things to Look Forward to:

The Mini Med school classes continue through April….

Yoga classes and Tai Chi classes are ongoing

The Spring 10 Day Detox will occur around the 3rd week of March

Next talk at the Yardley Inn:  5/16/12.  Eating to Balance Your Hormones!
